Aging Insight Magazine Design
Aging Insight Magazine 2018-19 layout, design and ad creative by Red Type Design. Magazine was produced for client Ross & Shoalmire Elder Law Attorneys. The Longview, Texas edition is a 44+cover publication and printed in full-color throughout.
I wanted to utilize consistent headline treatments and solid color schemes that are easy-to-read – a must considering the audience for these magazine is mostly senior adults. The client requested the use of many multiple colors. The typeface fonts used throughout are Clarendon and Avenir family. Photography was spec’d from AdobeStock.com. Aging Insight Magazine is now available at news stands and is a free publication. See the full editions for Longview, Tyler and Texarkana online at aginginsight.com.
This project had extensive typesetting. The many revisions to the editorials made it a little difficult to manage time. If you are doing a periodical and have multiple writers contributing, the style and content of the verbiage will be inconsistent and most often have rewrites, as was the case with these 2018-19 editions. It was my first year to produce. The previous year was done by a different design firm. The page templates and typography styles were built from scratch and can be used again next year. It was a pleasure working with the Ross & Shoalmire team. I look forward to the opportunity to do the graphic design, layout for Aging Insight Magazine 2019-20 editions.
Many thanks to Ross & Shoalmire editors: Marti Adams for Texarkana, Texas edition and Stacey Ford for Longview and Tyler, Texas editions for their insight (pun intended) and collaboration.
